Mindfulness is everywhere today, and for good reason. It felt strange when I started 30 years ago, but now it’s the “new” thing! Chinese Medicine offers its own versions of mindfulness called Qigong (pronounced: chi kung) and Tai Chi, both of which are now trending as yoga’s popularity wanes. With practices like Heavy Metal Yoga and Beer Yoga popping up, it’s clear we’re ready for something fresh. These ancient practices, over a thousand years old, are showing promising results for aging, cancer treatment, chronic inflammation, and brain health.
