Me, at New Years!!

First of all, this fake new year, I do want to say, thank you for tolerating my 1.5 year Ai brain dump. I got to take literally 900+ scraps of “topic” notes and actually get them “done” without totally ruining my family life. ha ha. I hope at least you found them helpful in your holistic quest.

We’re coming up on the Year of the Fire Horse, which is MY year. Yes, I am turning 60. At this time of writing, all us 59 year olds are the ONLY fire horses on the planet. A new crop of us is getting ready to be birthed into this world. Hold onto your hats! I’m not quite ready for the glue factory, but thank God reinforcements are coming!

When contemplating this new year I noticed that there are many dates for the “new year” and none of them are wrong. Jewish & Islam religions celebrate New Year in the Fall. There is Gregorian New Year (1/1), (10 days after Winter Solstice -12/21- still in the dead of winter). These are embryonic beginnings.

Chinese New Year creeps forward toward the end of winter, (this year on 2/17). Asian Solar New Year is closer to Spring Break around March13-15. EquiLux, the day of equal day and night (around 3/20) is the pause day (365th day) or Day 0 on the 13 month 364 day Lunar calendar before the new year “springs forth” the next day. Look up the history of April Fools. Interesting. Anyhoo. . . is it REALLY the new year? What do you think? Are you a Fall, Winter, or Spring kind of new year person? I usually do the Chinese New Year deal seriously.

I mention all this as a confirmed procrastinator. There’s nothing better than taking an extra month or so to get to all those resolutions! ha ha. Speaking of New Year’s Resolutions. . . Easy. I’m following the lunar calendar even harder. I love it. Always something new to practice.

I also love it when we have Lunar Calendar Bingo. That is when the Lunar Day and the Gregorian Day everyone else is living on matches up. So January 1st this year fell on Lunar Day 13. If that number makes you nervous, relax — thirteen isn’t bad luck. It’s only bad news for outdated systems. Twelve is orderly. Twelve is “we have a plan.” Thirteen is what happens when the plan has run its course and something truer wants in.

Looking up, which I recommend daily, even the sky refuses to behave with the plan — there are actually thirteen sidereal constellations along the ecliptic if we’re being honest. And yes, there were twelve disciples plus Jesus (13) at the table that day right before everything changed. Thirteen doesn’t whisper. It taps you on the shoulder and says, “We’re done pretending.”

From the Asian New Year’s perspective, the old Year of the Snake is ending and the dreaded Fire Horse will arrive soon. Yes, that is the sound of a massive, rabid, white eyed, on fire horse herd running toward you. You can feel their ominous rumble from 1.5 months away. Wanted to stay home this holiday? That’s you being like your dog on the morning of July 4th.

First with the old. Snakes don’t mess with their old skin. They don’t journal about it or drag it forward “just in case.” They shed it and move on. Snake years are kinda quiet like that — lots of internal rearranging, no external views or likes. You might not notice what’s changed inside until you realize you can’t tolerate certain things anymore. That’s the shed. If the last year felt tight, stale, or oddly exhausting, congratulations — the skin was loosening. And that old skin is not coming with you. You’re leaving it behind. Shut the damn journal. Put the storage box down!!

Now let’s talk about the Fire Horse year, because here we go.
Fire Horse energy is powerful, fast, catalytic, and destructive. Like the yogic Shiva, Kansas is going bye bye. The Horse is deeply unimpressed by thinking and hesitation. This is not the year for perfect plans or waiting until you feel ready. It’s a year for moving forward and progressing fast or getting run over by the herd. Changes will come quicker this year. Some things will absolutely go down in flames (mostly the ones that couldn’t move forward with you anyway).

But take heart……..LOL……… Where there is destruction, there is a fertile ground for something new to be planted, or built. This is a year of tremendous progressive potential and momentum. This is the year of great opportunity for people who are READY to choose a direction and GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

This upcoming year will be like a perpetual groundhog Day 21 – Herd of Horses day. The 3rd Quarter Moon. Beginning of Detox Week. We all have a long get rid of list and an even longer going to do list. BOTH have to get done this year. Get moving.

Bottom line:
This isn’t a “new year, new you” kind of year.
It’s a new year, moving a clearer you in the most progressive direction kind of year!

Are you going to drop the crap and get a literal running head start? or

Are you going to ignore it and get run over?

Either way. . . .Progress is moving forward next year. With or without you.
