The Six Healing Sounds are a set of vocalizations associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Qi Gong practices. Each sound is associated with a specific internal organ and element. Here are the Six Healing Sounds along with their associations:
- Chui (pronounced “chew eeee” ) – Kidneys – Water Element: (Blue/Black, Winter, The Banker – Active from 7pm to 9pm)
- Calms stress, fear, insecurity, phobias, and depression.
- Sit in a chair upright and lean forward from hips slightly when you exhale. Lips and throat are rounded like a giving a kiss but more open.
- This sound boosts circulation in the waterways to promote vitality.

- Xu (“Shhhhhhhhue” like shooing someone) – Liver – Wood Element: (Green, Spring, Beginnings, Planning, The General – Active from 1am to 3am)
- Releases pressure, frustration, stressful feelings, anger, tightness & pain.
- Stretch arms overhead and bend side to side, or twist gently side to side while exhaling using this sound. Decompression sound. Slow and Fast release.
- This healing sound helps release excess energy from the Liver while promoting emotional balance.

- He – Pronounced Ha (“haaaaaaw) – Heart – Fire Element: (Red, Summer, Developing, Growth, The Ruler – Active from 11am to 1pm)
- Hu (“hoooooo” like the word who) – Spleen/Pancreas – Earth Element: (Yellow, Late Summer, Harvest, Restoring, Replenishing, The Mother – Active from 9am to 11am)
- Helps restore digestive function, relieves feelings of anxiety & worry.
- While practicing this sound, place both hands above belly button, relax the belly and look up. Lips more pursed, but flatter than a kiss.

- Si (“sissssssss”) – Lungs – Ether Element: (White, Autumn, Accounting, Reflecting, Accepting, Letting Go – The Judge – Active from 5am to 7am)
- Helps detox lungs, open airways, remove stagnation, helps with grief.
- Lips are flat and the tongue is behind the front teeth. Slow and fast exhales can be practiced. While practicing, raise rounded arms over the head while looking up to the sky.
- Releases toxins from the Lungs and skin while improving respiratory function.

- Xi – Pronounced She (“sheeeeeeee” rhymes with kneee) – Metabolism – Combo Elements: Fire/Wood/Water: (Grey, Last Week of November, The Purge, The Executioner.)
- Helps body detox and communicate. Keeps body chemistry in harmony with the seasons and improves immunity.
- This healing sound is practiced in Wu Chi (standing or laying down), totally relaxed with arms by your side. Sides of tongue pressing on back teeth.
